I'm not sure what you are trying to prove,
but as a matter of interest it took me 7 hours last night
to "yum update" a fresh Fedora-7 installation
on a PIII with 400MB;
there were exactly 700MB of packages to update.
Ps This is totally irrelevant to the thread, IMHO.
Pps. I must try updating Windows on this machine.
I don't think I've used it (Windows) for several years,
and it may well be NT ...
Last time I used it was when the Asus BIOS died.
