Mate, you and I must be subscribed to different versions of the ILUG
list, because I don't recall seeing any of the sort of bollocks you
describe above, at least for the year or so that I've been on the
list.
ILUG is actually, by LUG mailing list standards, pretty flame-free.
In fact, what I hear in this thread is the Unix-only chaps saying,
"Fine, good, use whatever you want, just let me do the same."
I don't think it matters to most of us what *you* choose to run
(ignoring the unfortunate side effect of lack of driver support for
minority OSes--at least for home users--like Unix), but it seems to
bother a few people that some of us do not own a copy of Windows, or
do not keep the Windows install that came preloaded on our hardware.
Why do you care what we choose to do with our hardware?
