The Vodafone IRL 3G modem (Huawei E220) is now working on the NSLU2.
This instruction shows how to add the Vodafone E220 modem to an NSLU2 (Slug) running Debian Etch. However, the instruction should also be valid for:
- The Three network, the /etc/wvdial.conf file should be edited to suit the network
- Any Debian version of Linux (for example Ubuntu).
If anybody has real trouble compiling on an NSLU2, I am willing to send them the exectuable file. Contact me at bred.hacker at hotmail.com
If you want to use this instruction on a standard PC (x86 compatible) you can skip steps 1,2,4 and download the file
For anybody who needs a cheap but useful headless server, I can strongly recommend the NSLU2. Available from www.komplett.ie for €95. See www.nslu2-linux.org for details on how to turn the NSLU2 into a Linux machine.
