OK, It's been a while since I wrote cgi scripts but I seem to remember
this much:
use CGI qw(param);
Then you can use $param->('whatever');
I don't think the word param goes in quotes but try it both ways to see
what works.
I hope you are not suggesting to your students that they should actually
use cgi. That's, like, soooo 20th century... Like, not cool at all!!!
