Not if you do what I did[1] it doesn't...

[1] While travelling across France, about 2 days from the nest USB port,
you plug your son's iAudio ogg player into a usb connector scavanged from
an old motherboard and soldered to a standard DC power socket which is in
turn plugged into an in-car charger with the voltage set to 6V and the
polarity reversible tip connected centre negative. 30 mins later: "Dad,
it's a bit hot...". EUR150 that little mistake cost...
