Yes, what a pity.  I received, some years ago, a threatening voicemail
message for merely hosting an tiny explanatory document that mentioned
his name, so I replaced that hosted file with a hyperlink to DejaNews
(now called Google Groups).  It appears that they may have caved in --
though I may be able to re-find the links, if not.  In the meantime,
searching Google Groups for "reductase at msn.com" seems to be at least
somewhat enlightening.

At least the archived copy of Mark Welch's analysis piece is still
findable:

The person styles himself a Hollywood producer, these days.  Thus, it
would seem, his concern for his reputation.  (The irony of Hollywood
producers having concern for reputation is left as an exercise for the
reader.)
