[ILUG] software for kids

[ILUG] software for kids

John P. Looney valen at tuatha.org

So, my Sebastian loves laptops. Likely sees mammy & daddy using them all
the time, so wants to get in on the ground.

Laura kindly donated an old Vaio to the cause, and it's now been installed
with Ubuntu. I'm going to write some simple software for him, that'll show
pretty colours, maybe photos, play midi files, when he mashes the keyboard
repeatedly with his tiny, hi-speed fists.

Has anyone seen any software that's ideal for kids under a year old ? To be
honest, most of his amusement comes from the click has he mashes the
keyboard, but I want to give him something else...
