A server like that is on my shopping list. At the mo, I have an old
laptop with a external HDD. I would like something with a bit more
processing power than a Linksys NSLU2 and with a bit more
expandability than a Mini-ITX. The obvious solution to me is to get a
new enough laptop processor (Merom or Turion) - but in my (reasonably
quick) search, I've found few selling the low wattage processors and
no-one selling a motherboard with a PCI[-Express] slot and that you
could put in a standard case with a standard PSU. The reason I want
that is so I can stick on a SATA controller or 2 and hang a few nice
big discs off them in RAID5.
Do such motherboards exist or is it just a nutty idea?
