Not that I completely disagree but apart from cost nobody in this thread
has yet given a good reason why schools should really want to use OSS. In
the hands of a teacher with no linux experience (99% of teachers), I
suspect linux is not at all a good learning tool. This entire thread is
predicated around the notion that schools should use linux and would be
better off doing so, but nobody has yet given a coherent set of reasons why
that is so.
Perhaps constructing this coherent argument is the first thing you should
do in the wiki. I know I'm far from convinced at this point and would be
interested to learn from it.
