[ILUG] Recommendations for computer furnishings?

[ILUG] Recommendations for computer furnishings?

I got a local Cabinet maker to custom build me some office furniture,
the end result is fantastic, for about the same cost as a pile of
laminate crap to fill the same space.
As long as you don't get too fancy (i.e over customize) and you spend a
while thinking about the ideal ergonomics (start with ergonomics then
work backwards to looks..) You will get something that looks good,
suits current (& future) needs and will last for a very long time.

the cabinet making types are feeling the pinch right now so it should
not be too hard to find someone local who does good work for a sensible
price, Ideally you want someone who can a bit of independent thinking
as often the ideal solution is not what you think it is!

I bought the chair from
http://www.jacobsenchairs.com/
who are happy to haggle on the display ones if you turn up in person...
It's worth spending a few quid on a chair if your arse is going to be
stuck in it 10 hours a day..

then of course there's always Gentoo Furniture, take 2 trees and compile
your own..

regards Brendan
