Some linux-relevant bits: it appears to be trivial to evade if both the
client and server ends of the TCP connection are running Linux (or
FreeBSD, or indeed any other platform with sufficiently powerful firewall
filtering support.)

this command should do it:

    iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --tcp-flags RST RST -j DROP
