I'm using something like this:

    [global]
        security = user

    [music]
            path = /media/sda3/music
            inherit acls = Yes
            browsable = yes
            browseable = yes
            read only = Yes
            guest ok = Yes

(Other stuff in 'global' but related to printing, workgroup, etc...)
