[ILUG] 500Gb NAS at lidl

[ILUG] 500Gb NAS at lidl

I see lidl have a 500Gb NDAS drive for EUR140 on Monday next.
http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080818.p.TargaExternalNetworkHDD500GB

It claims to have an NTFS filesystem already on it. Interfaces are eSata,
usb2 and ethernet. Question is, while I presume eSata and USB2 interfaces
will just work, how does the ethernet bit work? Will it work with an ext?
filesystem instead of NTFS? How does one go about mounting a NAS
filesystem? What about in-LAN security?

As you might guess, I'm pretty much not au fait with all things NAS...
