There are a lmited number of manufacturers that could supply the hard
disk, so reliability of the disk itself is a relatively moot point.
However as far as the logic of the device itself goes then it's anyone's
guess.
If it turns out to be the worst the you end up paying €140 for a 500GB
disk. But a quick glance at Komplett shows this:

750GB, 32MB cache for €79.
Granted that is a barebones disk but they also have a Buffalo 500GB NAS
with similar spec to the Lidl jobby for €257.
