I'm absolutely on Rory's side here. I'm an early adopted in the genre,
with an EEE 701, and I bought it for certain very specific reasons,
for which it does the job (the screen width is the only reason I'd
change it - side scrolling web pages is annoying). Now as it happens,
I've actually used it very little for the primary reason I bought it,
and it has been used mostly to view video and to stream RTE Radio when
I'm travelling - both tasks for which the supplied software is adequate.
Apparently I could install Ubuntu, work quite hard, and eventually
have it boot in only 50% more time than stock but I fail to see why
I'd bother.
