You know, on basically any mailing list whatsoever, anywhere in the
world, you should send _any_ administrative query to the listadmin aka
listowner, who might be able to help you -- and not to the hundreds or
thousands of mailing list subscribers, who cannot.
On any mailing list software including Mailman (which ILUG uses), you
can find the listadmin in at least one, often more, fashion, from a copy
of any posting to that mailing list. In the case of ILUG's lists, there
are _two_ indicators. One is the list-help header included in every
posting:
> List-Help: <mailto:ilug-request at linux.ie?subject=help>
(In very general terms, listadmins can be reached by sending e-mail to the
mailing list's address with a suffix of either -request or -owner,
depending on the software. On Mailman, I believe either one works.)
The other indicator is the URL of the listinfo page, in the footer of
each and every message:
> About this list : http://mail.linux.ie/mailman/listinfo/ilug
That page has the e-mail address of the listadmin at the bottom.
Please, on behalf of Internet users everywhere, I ask that you send _no_
more such "administrivia" to mailing lists' subscribers. Not here; not
anywhere else. Thank you.
