I don't do much with the office formats anymore, that's handed off the
henning brinkman for .doc in general.
Nevertheless I'm sure they'll help a little, but the major problems
haven't been with the file format itself since about 06 or thereabouts,
but more with simply different ways of calculating various things and
other hidden assumptions hard-coded into our respective layout engines
as well as different overlapping feature concepts, e.g. mismatch of the
ideas of OOo writer sections + page formats vs msoffice sections.
