Apologies to Michele but I've heard too many people talk about Irish
companies offering stupid salaries to not respond to this.
The salary range for this is 28k to 35k (euro). For a senior Unix
engineer. The average house price in Ireland is greater than 6 times
that amount.
Is it any wonder people aren't choosing IT as a career in Ireland? I
like the folks at Blacknight, but if I wasn't an atheist I'd describe
offers like this as sinful. Quit working for these rates people.
You're worth more. Over your lifetime you have a finite amount of
working hours you can make money off your labour - stop giving it away
for salaries like this. There are better options in loads of
companies.
If you do go for places like this and get an offer, demand more. I
have in the past and took the job with the company that paid up. If
you know your stuff and you work hard, you are worth more. You'll be
better off for it and to be honest the companies that pay your
correctly will be better off too.
