Er, I don't think the pay should be 6 times that amount. But 35k to
60k would be a reasonable. Then the average house price would be in
the 6x to 3x range, not the 9x to 6x range. Not to focus on house
prices, but a professional, senior person with those responsibilities
should reasonably expect to be able to purchase a house with a bit of
effort on saving for a down-payment. Whether they choose to do that or
not is their decision.
There are companies besides Blackknight making these offers, I don't
want to single them out. And those companies are just not going to
attract talented people with rates like that (and if they do they're
exploiting them). It's giving the entire Irish tech industry a bad
name - not just in Ireland but around the world. We - all of us - are
getting a bad reputation in a global market and that is not a good
thing for any of us.
