I am currently doing a PhD in Computer Science in UCD, and as someone who
jumped into a PhD straight after my degree i would tend to advise against
it.
I would advise working for a year and deciding then. Its worth remembering
that you can do a PhD part time and there is nothing to stop you reading up
on an area before deciding to start a PhD.
