As far as I can tell, they will not upgrade a major revision within a
given release. So you will need to roll your own or upgrade to the
next Ubuntu release (scheduled for March I believe) which will also be
an LTS one (5 years patch support). There is a lot of documentation
available if you choose to roll out yoursm you can take a look at this
