Only, if you are dropping a cable from upstairs to downstairs along the
side of the chimney breast, be aware that it can get wider in between
the bed and living rooms.
I thought there must be some sort of hard stuff between the two floors,
and tried to knock a hole through with a poker. After some hammering I
realised what was going on, and made the hole half a meter to the right,
where there was only a little bit of plasterboard to get through.
But I don't dare light a fire any more.
