The stupid little yellow boxes that are really hard to click on to view
their text are your "comments" in OOo 2.3. In 3.0 (or e.g. as backported
to 2.4 in fedora rawhide/f9) they are visible as you'd expect in the
right margin with a line drawn to the anchor point.

As mentioned else where, F5 to get the navigator makes them a little bit
easier to work with in the "narrow yellow box" versions.
