Unfortunately I tried it without the balancer and on apache 2.0, sorry

But if you can, try to start back from the simplest case (like 
connecting directly to one tomcat then trying again without balancer 
from the httpd to tomcat) escaling into the most complicated config step 
by step and try to catch which part introduces the problem

but let us know ! ^_^
