[ILUG] Linuxmint Question

Hi Everyone,
            Does anyone know if the newest linuxmint release (http://www.linuxmint.com/rel_elyssa.php)
contains some of the updates that Ubuntu 8.04 has received since it was released?

Im installing mint on a desktop pc that has no internet connectivity at all and want to be able
iron out the worst of the initial bugs at least.

Is there any reasonably easy way to update a system like this?
