AFTER I've tried FC I can get creative and try other distros.
I presume the default "Fedora" is correct for repository name?
I tried also
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/8/Fedora/i386/os/
and
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/9/Fedora/i386/os/
but same error
cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for
repository anaconda-Fedora-2008050721150.i386
etc...
