thanks robert.. useful stuff. i must make that USB recovery stick real soon
now.. !
one other thing i did was to install Thunderbird, as the Acer default mail was
unhappy with IMAP, refusing to delete and having a 100 file limit.
once i had Thunderbird up and running, i deleted the Acer mail app. since
then i feel the WiFi has become flaky, less likely to re-connect after sleep.
or perhaps its my "soon to be replaced" Linksys AP.
