We used to have similar CPUs in a certain startup I used to work for.
Some people on this list will be able to give you a more technical
answer but in summary (and if memory serves right), they are slightly
buggy and do not understand i686 instructions right. The package
possibly giving you grief in this case (aside needing an i386 kernel)
is libc6.
Again, I'm sure a few on this list will pick up on my post to expand
and explain the problem better, but I used to have a similar cpu on
our self assembled boxes and a few problems arose.
