[ILUG] mad ldap idea

[ILUG] mad ldap idea

Hi guys

I have been wondering about notebook users and ldap authentication. I am
thinking about notebooks that only have an admin user and apart from
that get all their users via LDAP. The basic mechanism that I am
envisioning is to install slapd on all notebooks and to use ldap
replication to master server in order to keep things current. user
directories would be transferred via iServer. Has this ever been done
before? am I off my cuff? ;)

A quick look at uncle google didn't turn up anything likely

cheers

Bernhard
