Hey, I don't know did everyone notice, but Google released 11 million lines
of code this week; the whole Android source tree. It's pretty stunning, with
everything from a full mobile JVM + SDK to wireless drivers, a linux kernel
& runtime and so many other bits & pieces; http://source.android.com/ is the
main page, and git.source.android.com is the main repository.
It's kinda cool to have a phone that you can open a terminal emulator and
run 'top' on, to see the various apps, kernel processes etc. that make up a
phone. But cooler to know that it's a damn fine OS from day one. Hopefully
people with more spare time than I have will start hacking on power saving
and make battery life better :)
