At this point, I don't recall exact details, but the main issue was
Stability - in critical commercial, stressful, environments. Not "home"
installs, where users might be much more accommodating.
LinkSys APs, Routers, etc, installed side-by-side with similar devices
from other manufacturers, and the LinkSys stuff was extremely unstable -
dropping connections with clients, locking/hanging, etc. Some "no-name"
devices were installed in the same environments, with no major issues.
I recall serious exchanges with the LinkSys Support folks, installing
newer firmware, etc, with no significant improvements in stability.
I think there were no "power" issues with the devices, so ramping up the
signal strengths was not an issue, AFAIR.
