Hi,
If there are any sys admins out there looking for a job in D15, we need to replace a member of staff that is returning to his homeland.

It's a pretty interesting job and as we're a small team, you get to try a bit of everything! I've been here 3 years and they're a nice bunch to work with.

Job Blurb is as follows:

Internet Operations Engineer

Join a small team of talented Information Technology professionals who manage the operation of the Ask.com’s European web properties. We’re the people who make sure that www.ask.co.uk, one of the UK’s most popular search sites, works and works fast!

Summary

In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of Ask.com Internet Operations. Building and maintaining Linux servers, designing and improving network architectures, and creating clever automation to simplify infrastructure tasks are just some examples of the work you will be doing. You will also have to setup monitoring and fight fires as they arise to ensure 24x7x365 operation. You will work with our development and quality assurance teams to take their products live and maintain them
You will possess at least two years of IT work experience or a strong computer science academic background. Significant experience with all of the following is required:

• PC hardware
• Linux
• TCP/IP
• HTTP
• Perl, Python, Shell or other scripting language

In depth experience with at least one of the following is also required:
• Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
• Hardware TCP Load balancers / Layer-7 switches
• MySQL, Postgres or other SQL database platform

Most importantly you will have an intuitive understanding of technology coupled with a self-starting attitude and a desire to learn, tinker, and make things work better.

Regards,
Joan O'Callaghan

Internet Operations Engineer
