I don't use UPC but if its a wireless router and you connect to it via 
wireless the only question is does your linux computer work OK with the 
wireless card in your computer. Its then a matter of setting up your 
wireless security. I have had problems connecting some linux computers 
(eeepc) to wpa2 encrypted wireless networks.

Do you have any details of the router? Does it also do ethernet?
