Hi,
Can you let the list know what you mean by the battery was not working,
please? Did it not power up at all unless connected to the mains? Did it
give some error message? Did it indicate that it was not charging or
give some warning about reduced battery life - or something else entirely.
As a user of Ubuntu on laptop(s) every day, I'm quite interested to
hear about issues with battery life on various hardware platforms.
