[ILUG] Reference database

[ILUG] Reference database

I have been asked by our scientists here to look into a method of
downloading, storing and using scientific references. Apparently those
from Windows backgrounds refer to Endnote so we are looking for
something similar to that.

The requirements are:

1. Must work on our standard Ubuntu/OpenOffice desktop

2. Prefer it was available over the network via MySQL. If MySQL is not
an option than we prefer it was shared via another route.

3. Prefer that it utilises the ability to extract references from web
pages directly.

4. The lab people have suggested Zotero or Bibus as options.

Does anyone have any experience with either?

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Kevin.
