Kerry Linux Support support at kerry-linux.ie
Thu Jan 15 18:30:09 GMT 2009

GPG and similar encryption software can be integrated into vim very
easily. You can simply sign a text in the vim editor by hitting
<CRTL>G and after giving your passphrase, the signed text is in
the editor. Voila.

For this magic to work one has to prepare a file ".exrc" with the
following line:

map :,$! /bin/sh -c "/usr/bin/expand \| sed 's/ *$//g' \| gpg --clearsign -u \"Kerry Linux Support\"" 2> /dev/tty

Replace the Key Id by your name, please.

The tricky part is to enter ^G as one character into this file, you have
to enter ^v first and then ^G (still pressing <crtl>). For all who
struggle with this part I have included this line as an attachment.

Have fun, and use gpg.
