Aloha,
OSSbarcamp is taking place on September 19th in Dublin, which is also
Software Freedom Day. Its the 2nd event of its kind this year as we had a
great success of over 130 people turning up last March.
We had many topics catering for all levels from drupal for beginnings,
gstreamer, Ubuntu community, how to use GIMP and many more.
The reason I am running an ossbarcamp is that, there are not that many oss
events here in Ireland, its free to attend, and on a weekend where people
can come to it and not have to take time off work, which I think is
important so as many people can get to hear about new and great projects
people are working on.
What I am aiming to do now, is let as many people know about the event and
to come along, so if you think it's a good idea and want to tell people
about it, I'd appreciate that. We are also hoping to have the LPI exams
take place on the day for folks who'd like to do them. So hopefully this
will be a recurring event.
The site is at www.ossbarcamp.com I've registration there for people to
sign up, and also a suggest a topic page. The timetable goes up on August
8th so anyone can sign up and pick a time to suit themselves.
