[ILUG] E-Book Reader BeBook?

Hi,

I don't know the BeBook, but I use the linux-based Iliad for similar kinds of 
reading, and find it fine. The large screen is nice, but comes at a cost (the 
Iliad doesn't come cheap, I was able to get work to pay for mine).

You can't resize or reflow the text on pdfs, but you can zoom the page to get 
rid of margins. Scanned pdfs aren't a problem, and some of the files I've used 
with it are pretty big (of the order of 70 megs or so, and larger).

The conversion software that comes with it to change files into mobipocket 
format so that you can change font size and so on is Windows only, and I 
haven't really tried to get it working under wine or a VM.

It appears to be quite hackable also - there are a lot of modifications and 
fine-tuned software out there for it.

If you want to send me a file of the kind you're thinking about, I can have a 
look and take a couple of photos for you if you'd like.
