You could just try dd'ing the image on to the usb-drive, though I
suspect the solaris installer, will start searching for CD drives, and
ignore the usb drive.
What is the circumstances in which you need to do this? Perhaps there
is another solution. My ExamPrep Solaris manual says that there has to
be a cd-drive EITHER on your local machine OR somewhere else on the
network. You might be able to work something from that. I don't know.
