You also have to consider that ubuntu is a word, and was a valid word before
it was used to name a linux distribution, just by using it to name a
distribution doesn't give that linux distribution automatic copyright to the
word. Thats why .ie's are given out on a first come first served basis, as
is the policy of most nics.
A made up word such as "google" has a totally different ruleset, and clearly
should have, but regular language words can't be reserved for exclusive use
by any one group, and shouldnt!
