[ILUG] the first day of the week?

As much as I try to avoid religion on the ILUG list, the book of Genesis
might be relevent here.

2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he
rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

That, combined with the Irish Civil custom ( albeit a diluted one ) of
Sunday being a day of rest, would suggest that Sunday is the 7th day.
