Performances? It's an eeePC :P I'm sure he's not planning on running
twitter on his laptop :P Anyways, either you compile apache/php/mysql,
either you install ubuntu or gentoo or some flavor with package
managing or if you want a quick solution to start developing in less
than 8 hours you could always install XAMPP [1]
