[ILUG] Sound Failing To Initialise (Ubuntu)

I had a similar problem with upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid. Seemed  
to be kernel releated in my case. I could see everything was loaded  
just no audio (Via CLE266 motherboard). I didn't spend to long poking  
around as booting into the older kernel still worked.
