Is it possible the images were (mis)used accidentally? Most legitimate
corporations are generally reasonable when it comes to acknowledging
copyright / patents etc. as they usually look for a quiet life on the
legal front -- however, accidents and oversights do happen.
Is your friend certain it was a malicious act of copyright infringement?
Has he tried contacting the organisation concerned? Also, has he proof of
copyright?
