Speaking from personal experience as a journalist who has had to deal
with copyright grabs, I would advise as follows.
(1) Pick a numer. A large number. Then increase it. If he think it's
still a reasonable number, double it until he thinks he's being silly.
(2) Send an invoice.
Of course, all of this presupposes that he didn't do something foolish
like posting his picture on a website with a EULA giving the site owner
unlimited reproduction rights.
