[ILUG] Wardriving

[ILUG] Wardriving

Problem: 3 Broadband have cut off my lifeline to the Internet as over my 15G
per month limit for the next 2 weeks (I cannot challenge this highly
irregular bill until the bill is generated in two weeks - I think they have
combined the limit on a closing account with the new account I opened in the
same name to get the latest USB modem).

Currently: For some strange reason, once the laptop is logged into
Google/Gmail I have access to all Google services (Gmail, Reader, Maps, and
cached pages). Don't tell 3!

Question 1: Anyone know of a system still existing where I can get files by
email. In particular need
http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/archive/hsfmodem-7.80.02.04full/hsfmodem_7.80.02.04full_k2.6.28_11_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zipto
try to get my laptop dialup modem working again (I can barely remember
how that works).

Question 2: Anyone got any tips for really really simple and effective
wardriving. A beep from the laptop when open wifi is detected would be the
biz. Got to be an easy script.

Please attach any files (see Problem above).

Ian (speaking to you from the late 1980s).
