Dear Gurus,
I recently wrote to a government minister (Mary Hanafin)
about the strange treatment of a local bus service,
the Patton Flyer (Dalkey to Airport), which has been refused a licence
although it has been running (possibly illegally) for some years.
However, this is not about the Dalkey Flyer
but about the response I got from the minister's office.
Every day I get 30--40 copies of a formal reply, starting

Timothy
Many thanks for your email concerning the Patton Flyer.
I will forward this to the Minister for a response, in order to
keep this on file could you please forward a full postal
address.
Kind Regards
David Murray
Minister's Office
-----------------------------------------------------
I should say that I got a long, rational email from the minister
some time ago, outlining the long history of the dispute
and the rationale (unconvincing) of the decision not to license the Flyer.
But I still get this flood of identical replies every day from Mr Murray.
I wrote to him asking if he could stop the flood,
but that has had no effect.
Now I am wondering if it could possibly be a fault at my end,
or conceivably at TCD Maths Dept who the email comes from?
Any enlightenment gratefully received.
