I have a 500Gb SAN LUN connected to a RHEL 5.4 server. This LUN is divided into 5x100Gb filesystems, used for storage.
One of these filesystems was reaching capacity, so I asked the Clearcase Admin to move some VOBs to another free filesystem.
The Admin moved 53Gb of data across filesystems. It is taking 53Gb on the new filesystem, but it only freed about 15Gb on the other filesystem.
I reckon that unmounting the filesystem and running an fsck is the best option here (and may regain the unused space). However im trying to find documentation of this occurring.
Have any of you seen this before?
Both filesystems are EXT3, and the machine is connected via iSCSI (on a segregated storage-only network) to the single LUN.
Thanks
B
