OK - carpe diem so.In the interests of preserving the quasi festive intentions, and because
I'll be away for chunks of the next two weeks, let's go for the 6th of January. You'll need
a pint after the effort of taking down the decorations anyway. By the sounds of it the roads
will still be dodgy here and there, but barring fresh falls, the Newcastle Road up to the pub
itself should be fine (though you might take it handy in the car park).
