I too have an iPhone that is approaching end of contract. I've looked
around and at this stage I think I'll await the release of the new HTC
Desire:

It's not available until next month but should be purchasable from
http://www.expansys.ie/ or http://www.pixmania.ie/.
Warning: as you'd be buying direct rather than via an operator, it comes
with a hefty price tag. Seems to be a Nexus with minor differences.
